Life Update: new murals, cities, and challenges
Hello again to everyone following my work! I know it’s been a while since I last wrote here, but these past months have been an absolute whirlwind of travels, murals, and new challenges. As a professional muralist, it fills me with joy to share with you the latest steps I’ve taken in my career.
Before showing you my latest hand-painted mural projects, I want to give a brief overview of this period, during which art has taken me to different corners of the world.
Wrapping Up 2024
The last months of 2024 were truly hectic: I moved, traveled to Mexico where I painted three murals, and at the same time I was managing the O-1 visa process, which allows me to work as an artist in the United States. Thanks to this visa, I’m now able to continue creating murals for companies and public spaces across both Europe and America — something I’ve always dreamed of.
All of this while preparing for one of the most important projects of my career: Street Art Icons at Wynwood Walls in Miami, the most renowned outdoor urban art museum in the world. Being part of this iconic space has been a milestone for me as a professional muralist.
In just seven days, I painted a 75 m² mural where I pushed my Ornamental Style even further: a unique blend of animals, decorative filigree inspired by modernist architecture, and graffiti strokes that add dynamism and energy. This technique lets me create powerful, soulful visual compositions connected deeply to their environment.
Additionally, I launched my first official merchandise line: Wynwood Walls x Bublegum, and exhibited several pieces in their gallery. Seeing my work represented there, alongside some of the world’s most influential urban artists, was a true honor.
If you ever visit Art Basel Miami, one of the biggest contemporary art events on the planet, you absolutely must visit Wynwood Walls, where urban art takes on a whole new dimension.
2024 Best Mural in the World Award
We kicked off 2025 with incredible news! I was awarded the Street Art Choice Award for Best Mural in the World 2024 by Street Art Cities, one of the most influential global platforms for urban art. Being recognized among so many top international artists is a huge creative boost and confirms that hard work and passion for art really pay off.
The winning work, “Ornamental Ocelot”, was created in Cheste (Valencia) during the Graffitea Cheste Festival. This hand-painted mural, located at Rey Don Jaime Street, 1, depicts an ocelot fused with ornaments and natural elements.
The jury, made up of renowned urban artists worldwide, evaluated technique, style, and artistic concept. After their initial selection, the public voted to decide the mural of the year. Receiving this recognition from both peers and the community fills me with pride.
With this piece, my intention was to highlight less common species and emphasize the importance of biodiversity. I wanted to create a symbolic guardian protecting the street with strength and elegance.
Moreover, another of my murals, “Rinascimento”, was a finalist in the ‘Best Of’ category, ranking among the top 25 murals worldwide in the global voting. This reaffirms my commitment to mural art as a form of urban transformation and visual storytelling.
Painting Between America and Europe
In January, I returned to Florida to create Ornamental Angel in Fort Lauderdale for the Avenue of Arts project, an initiative to revitalize industrial areas through art. These kinds of projects show how urban art can have a positive, transformative impact on the environment.
In February, I completed two projects in Barcelona. One was a live painting at Atmans Coffee during their private annual party, and the other at Archi Tattoo studio in Calella. This experience highlights how muralism can add value to a business: back in 2021, I painted the entrance of the studio with a tiger and several interior murals, attracting many clients and building brand identity. This year, they went further and decorated the entire façade. This is a clear example of the power of personalized murals for businesses.
In March, I traveled to Beaumont, Texas, to participate in a well-organized urban art project led by @jmuzacz, aimed at raising awareness about local species and highlighting the natural environment of southeast Texas, a region known for its wetlands and rich biodiversity.
My mural was a tribute to one of the area’s most emblematic birds: the Roseate Spoonbill, a striking pink wading bird native to this region. I chose this species because of its impressive appearance and what it represents: beauty, fragility, and adaptation to its environment. Using a vibrant color palette and the visual language of my Ornamental Style, I brought life and joy to the façade of the Civic Center, transforming this public space into a piece full of symbolism.
Projects like this demonstrate the true power of professional muralism and urban art as tools for urban regeneration. During the painting days, I shared incredible moments with other artists and the local community. Spontaneous conversations with people stopping by to watch the mural’s progress were truly special.
Back Home
April brought one of the most personal and meaningful projects of the year: painting a mural in Lugo, my hometown. Titled “A raiña da caballeira”, this piece is a direct homage to my roots, childhood, and the Galician culture that has accompanied me since my first strokes.
The mural is located in the Fingoi neighborhood, where I grew up, making this work especially emotional. Returning there after years traveling the world as a professional muralist and leaving my artistic mark in such a memory-filled space was a powerful experience. I painted under the rain, surrounded by familiar faces, old friends, and neighbors who came by to show their enthusiasm and support. It was a reunion filled with gratitude.
The piece depicts a mystical figure: the queen of the Galician forest, a kind of meiga (witch) who protects and guards nature. Inspired by Celtic imagery and traditional symbolism, this figure blends feminine elements with earthy strength, acting as a silent bridge between city and forest.
In this mural, the play of light and textures was key to conveying the magical atmosphere I sought, within my already established Ornamental Style, where I combine portraits with natural elements, architectural strokes, and urban energy.
Jasper, Canada
After Lugo, my journey took me to Jasper, in the heart of Alberta, Canada — one of the most stunning natural regions I’ve had the fortune to visit. I participated in an urban art project with social and ecological impact, aimed at revitalizing the city after devastating wildfires the previous year. In this context, my mural became a symbol of resilience, hope, and community strength.
The piece honors the Rocky Mountain cougar, a native animal that, in many Indigenous cultures, symbolizes strength, courage, and guidance through change. I felt it was the perfect figure to capture the spirit of Jasper and its people: individuals who, despite hardship, move forward with determination and respect for the nature around them.
During our stay, we explored Jasper National Park, one of Canada’s largest and wildest parks. We were lucky to see bears, deer, Rocky Mountain sheep, and coyotes roaming free. This direct connection to wildlife, land, and community added a deeply emotional layer to the experience.
This mural will always hold a special place in my heart. It is the result of intense days of creation, surrounded by breathtaking landscapes and generous people who welcomed me warmly. Urban art can heal, and in Jasper, that feeling was truly palpable.
From Valencia to Belgium
My mural journey then took me to Alberic, Valencia, where I participated in the Art Alberic Festival with “Ornamental Bat”, a mural paying tribute to the rat penat (bat), an iconic protective symbol deeply rooted in Valencian culture. According to tradition, this little bat saved the city during King Jaume I’s conquest by alerting the inhabitants of an imminent attack. This mural not only beautified Alberic’s urban space but also helped strengthen community identity, showing once again how professional muralism can transform and revitalize public spaces.
Next, I traveled to Belgium for the famous Rock Werchter Festival, where I created “Ornamental Elephant”, a mural featuring an elephant — a universal symbol of strength, intelligence, and good fortune in many cultures. This piece combines classic graffiti elements with intricate ornamental details. Working in a different format with new technical and creative challenges made the experience especially enriching and fun.
This is just a part of the journey. Being a mural artist isn’t just about painting; it’s about connecting, transforming spaces, and sharing stories with every stroke. From Lugo to Florida, every mural I paint carries a piece of me.
Thank you for reading and sticking with me.
See you at the next wall.
