Ornamental Lynx: Discover the Story Behind My Mural in Salamanca
I had long wanted to create a mural dedicated to the Iberian lynx, and finally, the perfect opportunity arose during the Graffitibuey festival in Garcibuey, Salamanca, a key event for urban art in Spain. As a professional muralist with an international background, I’ve been fortunate to bring my ornamental style and hand-painted murals to cities worldwide, but this project nestled in the Sierra de Francia holds a special place in my heart.
The Iberian Lynx Takes Center Stage
The mural I painted, Ornamental Lynx, captures this majestic feline—one of Spain’s most iconic wildlife species and an endangered animal showing signs of slow but steady recovery. My work combines realism with ornamental influences inspired by modernist architecture and techniques I developed during my years as a tattoo artist. The result is a visually striking mural full of symbolism and emotional depth.
Beyond beautifying the space, my intention was to raise awareness about environmental protection and highlight the urgent need to preserve our natural habitats and biodiversity.
Hand-Painted Murals that Revitalize Communities
Garcibuey, a small village with just 180 inhabitants, has reinvented itself through the Graffitibuey festival. Since its inception in 2019, the festival has transformed the town into an open-air urban art museum showcasing murals by both national and international artists. This project is a powerful example of how urban art and murals for businesses and communities can breathe new life into rural areas and combat depopulation.
The collaboration between artists, the local government, and Salamanca’s provincial authorities has positioned Garcibuey as a “Creative Eco-Destination,” where art and rural tourism merge to foster a sustainable cultural identity.
Why the Iberian Lynx?
As a Spanish muralist deeply passionate about felines and nature, I chose the Iberian lynx because it embodies both strength and vulnerability. Using warm reddish hues, I aimed to reflect the species’ endangered status while also conveying hope, inspired by recent conservation successes including a 19% population increase in 2024.

Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of painting murals in iconic locations like Wynwood Walls in Miami, the birthplace of graffiti in New York, Paris, and North West Walls in Belgium. Urban art, to me, is a powerful tool to transform spaces, tell stories, and foster human connection.
My hand-painted murals blend traditional craftsmanship with urban influences, always striving to create works that resonate deeply with their surroundings. Whether in public or private spaces, my goal remains to enrich environments and touch emotions through art.
