Ornamental Angel II: El proceso creativo
Mi participación en el Calais Street Art Festival, organizado por Les Ateliers du Graff, fue con Ornamental Angel II, una figura femenina radiante que simboliza la fuerza interior y la serenidad. Sus alas, inspiradas en la delicada filigrana y la escultura ornamental, combinan la elegancia clásica con un toque moderno, creando un equilibrio visual entre lo espiritual y lo tangible.
Visitar Francia siempre me llena de inspiración, pero esta vez la experiencia fue aún más especial gracias a la calidez de Amis y Lionel, la familia que me abrió las puertas del muro. No solo me brindaron un espacio único para crear, sino que también me ofrecieron su amistad y hospitalidad, haciendo que cada momento fuera realmente memorable.
Quiero agradecer especialmente a Anje Lag por la invitación y el apoyo constante durante todo el proceso. A pesar de que solo conté con una semana para completar la obra y las condiciones climáticas fueron un poco complicadas, logramos sacar adelante el mural con muchas ganas y buena energía. Entre risas y trabajo intenso, esta experiencia se convirtió en un recuerdo muy especial.
Calais: Un Museo al Aire Libre en Construcción El festival de Calais tiene un propósito ambicioso y hermoso: transformar la ciudad en un museo urbano al aire libre. Diversos artistas franceses e internacionales están interviniendo en diferentes puntos de la ciudad, llenando las calles de color y vida. Aunque el proyecto es reciente, su impacto cultural y turístico ya empieza a notarse, consolidando a Calais como un nuevo referente del arte urbano en Francia.
Mi Proceso Creativo: Del Espacio al Mural
Cada muro es un desafío y una oportunidad para crear algo auténtico y que dialogue con su entorno. Antes de empezar, investigo a fondo el lugar utilizando Google Maps: estudio los ángulos, la iluminación natural a distintas horas del día, y los puntos de vista desde donde la obra será más visible y apreciada. Esta observación minuciosa me permite diseñar un mural que no solo se adapta al espacio, sino que también lo potencia, generando una experiencia visual envolvente para quienes lo descubren.
Inspiración y Diseño
Mis temas recurrentes, animales, retratos femeninos y formas orgánicas, son la base de cada proyecto, pero nunca repito un patrón. Cada muro tiene su propia voz, y busco que la composición respire vida y movimiento. Todo empieza en mi tablet con Procreate, donde experimento con diferentes poses y referencias, mezclando elementos clásicos y modernos. Aquí construyo la base ornamental de la pieza, combinando precisión técnica con un toque de improvisación que aporta frescura y originalidad a la obra.
La Técnica en la Pared
Para trasladar el diseño al muro uso la técnica del “doodle grid”, un método que me permite escalar y alinear el boceto con precisión sobre la superficie real. Luego, comienzo a pintar con spray, mi herramienta favorita, que me ofrece versatilidad para lograr degradados suaves, contrastes dramáticos y líneas finas que aportan ritmo y energía al mural. Cada trazo está pensado para crear profundidad y dinamismo, haciendo que la pieza cobre vida ante los ojos del espectador.
