Nutria Ornamental: Concienciando sobre las Especies en Peligro de Extinción a Través del Arte
Recientemente, tuve la increíble oportunidad de participar en el FASADA Festival, un proyecto que nació en 2021 con la visión de transformar Sarajevo en una galería al aire libre. El festival no solo busca revitalizar los barrios urbanos de la ciudad, sino también generar un impacto positivo en la comunidad local. Bajo el lema “We educate, we paint, we change, we collaborate”, FASADA ha facilitado la creación de más de 30 murales y ha reunido a decenas de artistas internacionales a lo largo de cuatro ediciones. Su objetivo inicial de “pintar todas las paredes de Sarajevo” evolucionó hacia algo más profundo: un arte que conecte verdaderamente con las personas, educando, generando diálogo y fomentando el cuidado del entorno.
Esta edición: Especies en peligro de extinción
Esta edición se centró en dar visibilidad a especies amenazadas y en peligro de extinción en Bosnia, como el olm, la salamandra, el lince, el snake-eyed skink, la tortuga de Hermann, la serpiente de rata europea, la víbora de pradera y la Bosanska šarka. Yo elegí representar a la nutria, una especie que siempre me ha gustado y que también está presente en España. Mi idea inicial fue representar a la nutria en su hábitat natural, sumergiéndose en el río para transmitir movimiento y la sensación de vida que caracteriza a este pequeño guardián de los humedales. El mural busca reflejar la belleza de los ecosistemas acuáticos y crear conciencia sobre las amenazas que enfrentan, como la contaminación, la pérdida de hábitat y la presión humana. Además, lo desarrollé siguiendo mi estilo ornamental, combinando realismo con detalles de filigrana para generar ritmo y narrativa en cada elemento del mural. El mural se encuentra en el barrio Tina Ujevića, donde durante el festival se pintaron otros ocho animales por increíbles artistas como Tea, Vedra, Nush, This, Simian, Fio, 514.415 y Stom. Fue fascinante ver cómo, en un mismo barrio, cada artista interpretaba un animal distinto con su propio estilo, creando un diálogo visual lleno de diversidad y riqueza creativa.
Más allá del mural: cultura y experiencias
Además de pintar, fue una oportunidad única para vivir la cultura de Bosnia de la mano de Benja, el curador del festival. Sarajevo es una ciudad fascinante por su mezcla de culturas y tradiciones, con vestigios del Imperio Otomano, la influencia austrohúngara y la rica historia balcánica. Cada calle, plaza y rincón cuenta historias que se entrelazan con la vida cotidiana. Y, por supuesto, la experiencia culinaria también fue excepcional: desde los tradicionales cevapi hasta los postres locales, cada comida fue un verdadero placer. Me siento muy afortunado de poder descubrir nuevos lugares que me sorprenden mientras hago lo que más me gusta: pintar, crear y conectar con el entorno a través del arte. Participar en FASADA y representar a la nutria en Sarajevo fue una experiencia que siempre recordaré, tanto por el mural en sí como por todo lo que aprendí y viví en esta ciudad única.
